bacne

so this is the biggest painting i have ever done, whoa. i bought a big brush but it's not really getting used haha. i just keep having cool accidents with the palette knife that are better than a brush stroke. just my personal opinion.

matt was my lovely model for this painting. he doesn't have any acne on his back, just for the record, BUT he is a good friend and was willing to offer his back as the palette for acne. thank you matt :)

i'm going to keep painting while it's still wet...repost later.

acne vulgaris

i've been wanting to do acne portraits for a couple months now and i'm finally doing something with it for TDS painting. i think there will be 3 in the end, but this is the first one i started last night. it still needs some more work in the hair and the neck and stuff but i'm digging the way the actual acne is turning out. it's beautiful just like i imagined. bacne is next..

i have heard that red heads will go extinct in a 100 years or so. maybe it was 1000 years? of course there will always be those of us who dye our hair red to keep it alive. but what about the irish??
my friend sarah shoemaker is a natural ginger with beautiful freckles (which i wasn't able to paint) and i thought how sad if someday there wont be natural redheads like her, and no one will be able to see this beauty anymore.

my step mom gave me some funky clothes last week. this dress was one of them and i fucking LOVE IT, but it's hard to get in to. BUT it does make you want to twirl around and act like a degas ballerina :) haha, stupid.

4:00 am

my eyes hurt. i'm wondering if mcdonalds starts serving breakfast at 5:00. probably not until 6. hotcakes and sausage sounds good.

this has been fun to play around with the color, but it's not there yet. i don't think my eyes can handle anymore computer though, so i'm going to watch roseanne and try to finish this tomorrow.
